The Private Cloud Model

The Private Cloud: The Single-Family Home
A Private Cloud refers to cloud computing resources used exclusively by a single business or organization. The infrastructure can be physically located at the company’s on-site datacenter or hosted by a third-party service provider.
- Single-Tenancy: You are the only tenant. You have complete control over the hardware, the network, and the security stack. You do not share resources with other companies.
- Economics (CapEx): If hosted on-premise, this often involves Capital Expenditure. You must purchase the hardware, software licenses, and pay for the electricity and cooling upfront.
- Why choose it? Strict regulatory compliance (e.g., defense, banking), data sovereignty requirements, or legacy applications that require specific hardware.
